Grow Interactive worked with Google to concept and develop Uncover Your World, a lovely mobile experience for Google’s Search App.
To build the ad experience, Grow modeled an entire “world” with 3D technology and used a 3D printer to bring it to life. Check out the making-of video below:

Ever since we’ve seen the extinction of analog audio formats, we’ve been spending time and energy reminiscing and attempting to replicate the look and feel of the classic turntable. There have been tons of projects that will take your MP3s and filter their audio to sound more like the cassette tape or record you remember listening to as a kid and, this blog has covered a great deal of them. The fad isn’t going away anytime soon and if you’ve been keeping up, most recently a project, turntable.fm has been growing out of control (it’s a ton of fun and you should try it out).
wheelsofsteel.net is another great turntable experiment that you should really check out, done by Scott Schiller. He wrote an extensive article on how he went about designing and developing the HTML/Javascript (that’s right – no flash) project here http://www.schillmania.com/content/entries/2011/wheels-of-steel/, and it’s an extremely interesting read. Check it out!
A Japanese university lab has created a machine and software to transmit a “kiss” over the internet to a person with identical twisting-straw-like hardware at the other end.
It’s an interesting but completely inaccurate and creepy interpretation of transmitting a tactile sensation over the web.
Which of the other 5 senses will be transmitted next? When do we get smell-o-vision on the web? :)

Loads.in is a web tool that allows you to run a few tests on your web site and server to see how quickly it loads on different browsers and in different locations.
Go to http://loads.in to check it out.
Microsoft Research has created a cell phone app that allows you to take a bunch of images around an object and create a 3D model from it.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like you can try it out yet, but it does look pretty sweet from the video.
