Using four Kinect sensors and some heavy duty realtime processing, 3D videoconferencing has been set up at University of North Carolina.
3D is the latest gimmick when it comes to watching TV, but this is something beyond novelty. Apart from making the “tele” part seem more realistic, the system can use “mixed reality” to track eyes in 3D space. This opens up the door to more serious applications not just about how we’re perceived, but about how we blend our natural communication methods with digital ones.

“3 Dreams of Black” is an interactive film by Chris Milk for Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi’s ROME album.
Chris Milk was also the director behind Arcade Fire’s amazing Chrome-experiment-music-video “Wilderness”.
For “3 Dreams of Black” Milk used WebGL technology which brings hardware-accelerated graphics to the browser, without the need for additional software. Chrome is one browser that supports WebGL.
You can read more about it on Google’s blog: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/05/3d-dreams-in-modern-browser.html

All you need is a wireless network to hook up your smartphone and watch YouTube videos in this cool, pop up outdoor theatre. Plus the structure itself kind of resembles a jungle gym.
