YouTube announced on its blog that it will be supporting 1080p video playback. Over the last three years YouTube has increased its video dimensions from 320×240 to currently 1920×1080.
They are even going back and rencoding previously uploaded videos to 1080p. For example this Dips spot that we uploaded a while back was originally viewable at a max of 1280×720, but is now viewable at 1920×1080 (choose 1080p and view fullscreen for full effect)
